The Bert Nash Center offers LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). With this unique training, you’ll learn how to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide, and how to provide a skilled intervention and develop a safety plan with the person to connect them to further support.

Trusted by professionals, approved by the World Health Organization and learnable by anyone, LivingWorks ASIST has been training people to provide suicide first aid interventions for 40 years.

What to expect at a LivingWorks ASIST event

  • This two-day in-person workshop features powerful audiovisuals, discussions, and simulations.

  • Participants will consider how personal and community attitudes about suicide affect someone’s openness to seek help and your ability to provide it.

  • This workshop will increase your willingness, confidence, and capacity to provide suicide first aid.

  • Two knowledgeable, supportive trainers will guide you through the course, ensuring a comfortable and safe learning environment.

This course may be eligible for continuing education credits – participants should let the instructor know if they would like information about obtaining continuing education credits.
